Let Them Eat Cake...
The cake at this photoshoot was the absolute star of the show, it was definitely the best thing I've ever tasted, so it deserves an appreciation post.
I firmly believe in supporting Disabled QTBIPOC businesses, so I was ecstatic when Rosario's daughter, Ana, a past client, reached out to ask to collaborate on an upcoming photoshoot I was putting on. I was more than excited to host them, portfolio unseen, because not only did I know Ana had impeccable taste, everyone deserves a foot in the door. There is no success for one of us without all of us.
Ana's mom, Rosario, runs The Cake Batter Co. here in Utah, and let me tell you, she did not disappoint. Rosario's commitment to aesthetic desserts paired with unique flavors made collaborating with her easy and stress-free because I knew she would nail what I wanted. Everyone on set would agree with me when I say the cake was DIVINE, but all the proof you need is 1) in these photos and 2) the fact that we DEVOURED every single crumb.
I'm still so pleased when I look at these images, continually swooning over how perfectly adorable and modern these mini cakes turned out. They tied everything together perfectly, and I don't think this shoot would have come together without them, specifically the warm, intimate, candid shots.
I've continued to order from Rosario over the years, from special occasions to personal cakes for loved ones she has never disappointed. I can't scream from the mountain tops enough how yummy her baked goods are. You're a fool if you don't hire her!
Now, on to the pretty pictures tied to the famous quote, "Let them eat cake," an appropriate sentiment for how it feels living here these days.
